Quality Supervisor

The Quality Technician/Supervisor supports the plant’s quality management system to ensure compliance with automotive standards, including IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements. This role is responsible for supervising a team of quality inspectors to ensure customers receive 100% defect free parts. The position is also responsible for various testing, calibration, and containment activities to ensure product conformity, reduce defects, and support continuous improvement within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Supervise a team of production floor inspectors to ensure correct staffing and inspection prioritization is being maintained.
  • Perform Millipore (membrane filtration) testing to verify cleanliness levels of components and processes in accordance with automotive cleanliness standards (e.g., VDA 19 / ISO 16232). 
  • Manage and maintain the gage calibration system, ensuring all inspection, measurement, and test equipment is calibrated and compliant with IATF 16949 requirements.

  • Develop, update, and maintain process work instructions and visual aids to ensure standardized operations and error-proofing (poka-yoke). 
  • Support layered process audits (LPA) and internal quality audits to ensure adherence to control plans and standardized work. 
  • Assist in root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D) and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 
  • Maintain traceability and accurate quality records in compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements. 
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve process capability.
  • Assist with safe new product launches and building sample parts.

Buyer/Planner

The Buyer is responsible for procuring direct supplies and services within the scope of the company’s policies and procedures in support of its manufacturing operations. This position sends schedules to suppliers electronically as well as manually, manages the process of receiving, reviewing, and monitoring the filling of customer requirements and acts as a supplier service liaison between supplier and MSW. The Buyer utilizes an MRP system in accordance with established parameters and coordinates with scheduling/production to ensure parts are in stock with ample time to produce finished goods.

• Manages continuity of supply of material to support all production needs.

• Contact suppliers to verify shipment details, request push outs and pull ins (Action supplier exception messages) based upon customer requirements.

• Plans for purchasing materials to support production/customer needs using EDI sales forecasts.

• Review customer demand, production schedules, and material shortage reports to determine materials requirements and priorities.

• Coordinate constrained customer-directed suppliers with customer agreement.

• Drive troubled suppliers to provide detailed delivery plans that ensure 100% on-time delivery. Supplier recovery plans should show when troubled suppliers are 100% compliant with MSW needs.

• Maintain and nurtures excellent internal customer and supplier/customer relationships.

• Communicates cross functionally with various departments to ensure all needs are met.

• Requisitions and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.

• Manages and maintain safety stock levels to reduce risk of stock outs through analyzing supply and demand.

• Maintain part number parameters (lead-times, box quantities, MOQs, time fences, costs, etc.)

• Run EDI customer sales orders comparing prior and level the schedule by work center.

• Resolve A/P issues timely.

• Assists in new product launch process.

• Compiles information, such production progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed

• Create and maintain Work Instructions for this position and follow ISO 9001: 2015 or IATF 16949 requirements for updates.

• Coordinate with quality team to mitigate supplier quality issues and propose deviations.

• Lead root cause corrective actions for past due purchase orders and for inventory below / above optimized level

• Confirm Purchase Orders within 3 days of creation and keep promise dates accurate.

• Participate in teams to resolve problems, mitigate risks, process improvements, etc.

• Take full ownership of the job matrix with back-up associates.

• Drive improvement through new processes, methods, and tools.

Summary/Objectives

Working Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, the 2nd shift Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and production maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the first point of contact for equipment breakdowns and respond promptly and professionally to time-sensitive maintenance needs.

  • Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting with a focus on identifying root causes and preventing recurrence.

 The Quality Engineer maintains quality control processes, systems and documentation for the plant. Supports the plant’s quality management system to ensure compliance with automotive standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements. This role provides quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing workstations. This position is a key contributor to continuous improvement, corrective and preventative actions and work closely with all departments to ensure we produce a quality product.
